There’s an entire screwy world of sports out there just waiting to be explored.
While mainstream plays like football and basketball take over a majority of the media’s tending, a batch of distinct athletics are finagling to slowly make a call for themselves. By the time I graduated college, for example, my university had competitive ultimate Frisbee, which was unheard of really a few years ago. But out of all of the mysterious sports I’ve viewed, I’ve never come across one quite like this.
Bo-taoshi is a game played by children and adults alike in Japan. It’s a mix of capture the flag and rugby, with only a bit of gymnastics propelled in for good meter. It consists of two 75 -player squads, and the goal is to protect your team’s “ninja, ” who must stay atop a pole while representatives from the resisting squad try to knock your pole down to a 30 -degree angle.
Words can’t actually do this outlandish sport justice. Watch for yourself:
Share this with your friends who’d want to try out bo-taoshi for themselves!
